Thanks, Rachel. Somehow I missed both the general notice and anything posted here. But I'll be certain to contact Rick. I appreciate the information.

The Raleigh City Museum exhibit is work selected by a jury from an open call to members of this group (VAE Plein Air Painters). The call was posted on VAE's web-site and sent via email to members of this group. (http://www.visualartexchange.org/pleinair2010.php) The group is still adjusting to sending out information via the Artist's Directory, so next time we'll do a better job to make sure information is posted here as well.

Email Rick Bennett (rbennett16@nc.rr.com) if you are not already receiving group emails. He sends out announcements about painting dates & locations. They are also posted in the weekly enews.

I'm really confused. There is an exhibit at Raleigh City Museum by "VAE Plein Air Painter's Group". Who are they and how are they different from us? Who are we supposed to get notices of places and times to paint??

Will do. The garden is starting to go into transition for early summer.
Maybe in May.

Not sure about March 20... and I have a conflict on the 27th. Please keep me informed.

Sounds good. I have a conflict on March 20, so will reserve March 27 and hope for good weather that day and will check back on location.

March 20th and March 27th
There are TWO March dates scheduled for plein air painting. If the weather is poor we will have an alternate date and if the weather is nice you can pick the one that fits your schedule or paint on both. This will give the maximum opportunity for creating an entry for the Raleigh City Museum Plein Air exhibition and get back in fine form for the Local Color Plein Air Paint Out.
March 20th we will paint at The NC State Capitol Square. It is bounded on four sides by Morgan, Salisbury, Edenton and Wilmington Streets. The site feature the NC State Capitol building. Historic churches are found on each corner of the square. Fayetteville Street is viewed from one side and the Legislative Building on the other.
I will monitor the weather and by the Thursday before send an email if things look marginal. At this point I plan to be at the site by 9:00 AM. www.nchistoricsites.org/capitol/default.htm is the website for information and images. There are coffee shops and restaurants a short trip up Fayetteville Street.
March 27th will be the back up date in case of poor weather. If the weather is nice and we paint on March 20th then I will announce a new location for the March 27th date.
