visual art exchange (vae) is a non-profit art gallery and association that supports emerging artists and connects the community to the arts.

Gallery Hours and Information

Visual Art Exchange is open Tuesday - Saturday from 11am-4pm and from 6-9pm on First Friday. The gallery is located at 309 West Martin Street in Downtown Raleigh. For more information about our exhibitions and programs go to www.visualartexchange.org.

how art comes back to me

It has  been 7 yrs. now  ,since  tragedy enter my life. my sister was murder in 2006, April.   Ronda R. Horton Barnes  of clayton. well,  you know , when you think you're dying and can't live anymore . at that time , it was me . so one day, lying in bed, sad.  I started drawing on paper ,which I haven't done since high school of  84".  my thoughts were to stay busy ,so I won't think about her being gone. Cake Decorating class ,Really?  I passed , much fun. In Michaels looking at arts and…
